Treatment Process
At Austin Family and Sports Chiropractic, we have a success rate over 90% in treating soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries. We have achieved this high level of success because of our diagnostic and integrated treatment approach. Every patient at Austin Family & Sports Chiropractic receives individual attention from Dr. Laurie Buob from start to finish. The majority of our patients find relief from their symptoms and finish treatment within 6 visits.
Initial Consultation
Dr. Laurie begins the new patient process with a comprehensive history of the patient. Combined with an initial evaluation, Dr. Laurie is able to assess the possible causes of the patient's pain or injury. Plan 1-1.5 hours for this initial consultation and treatment.
Soft Tissue Treatment
Conservative treatment of muscles, tendons and joints will be Dr. Laurie's first approach, unless further diagnostic tests are warranted. A combination of conservative treatments such as chiropractic care, myofascial release, Active Release Technique, FAKTR and Graston Technique will focus on repairing dysfunctional tissue, allowing the body to heal itself.
Rehabilitation/Exercise
Treatment, exercises and teaching will also be provided to address the root cause and to prevent further injury. Using the knowledge of biomechanics of the spine and extremities, Dr Laurie incorporates balance, stability and activity/sport specific training in order to remove barriers that force you to compromise your health and quality of life. Dr. Laurie strives to help you do the activities better than you were once able to do. Plan on 30 minutes for exercise rehabilitation followed by 30 minutes for treatment.
Each treatment plan is unique to each injury and the number of sessions is determined by how the patient responds. Progress is measured by patient at each visit.
